Belated summer happenings

First, we had the opportunity to help out with a day camp through In the Gap for a week. Abbie, Charity, Maggie, Benjamin, and I had a great time. A special highlight was Abbie got to lead a little girl to Christ! There were over ten salvations that week. It was a very get out of your box time. : )

The end of July was our town’s annual peach festival. We made and sold 43 gallons of homemade peach ice cream by early afternoon. It was a lot of work but it was definitely worth it.
For those of you who don’t know, we put Think Jesus stickers on the cups. There were several instances where we saw the customers putting the stickers on their strollers or backs. Helping share the message. : )

The long lines as usual.
I’m amazed at how long people will stand in line just for some ice cream!

Working together to make it happen.

Maggie and I celebrated our birthday about 2 weeks late because Hannah and Abbie were on trips and we wanted them to be at the party.
Gone on a trip

Other than it being odd to celebrate so late, it was fun!
Me and my favorite twin ever!

John-Clay also had his birthday in August. We had a small celebration early because he was heading up to Michigan to work on the movie Beyond the Mask through November. He loves sweet potato casserole so that’s what he requested!!

The Lord is gracious

Favorite verse
Hebrews 13:5-6
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

Some of us kids went out to our Grandparent’s property and fished, checked trail cameras (set up for deer season)…etc. Good to get some country air.

Havin' fun
We took supper to the guys’ house so that we could be together as a family before John-Clay left. That was fun. We had some interesting conversations. Like, do you think there could be life on other planets?
It’s always so good to be together!

Next we celebrated Caleb’s birthday.

Favorite verse
Romans 8:28
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

We went to my Grandparent’s for Labor day. Some of our other relatives came too. It was as much fun as usual! We played lots of games, ate, rode horses, and rode in the horse drawn wagon. Lots and lots of fun!

We sang for the revival. As you’ve seen.

We’ve been blessed to use a Church gym to play volleyball. We used to play every other Tuesday. Used to, unfortunately it is being changed into a bowling alley and rock climbing wall. But we are very grateful for the time we were able to play in it!

Caleb. Oh ya.Fun friends

Well, that pretty much catches us up!
Hope you’ve enjoyed your summer and have a Happy Fall!

Revival Time!

Sunday was the beginning of a 4-day revival at our grandparents’ church. Our family is leading the music (congregational singing, specials, offertories) for all the services, and we would appreciate your prayers!

Our best singing happens while doing dishes or driving down the road with the windows rolled down, so being on stage with microphones and the whole deal is a different experience for us. :)

Here are some pictures from Sunday morning and Monday evening…

“I Will Praise Him”

“I Love You, Lord” medley

“Spirit of the Living God, Fall Fresh on Me”

It’s been a good stretch for us to actually put together something that is more prepared and polished instead of throwing stuff together last minute. Most of our pieces are either bluegrass style (guitar, ukulele, mandolin, and fiddle) or all of us girls singing a cappella. We’re having fun!!

Pray that we will be in unity and not forget Who this is all about. We are also praying that our neighbors we invited will come and hear the Gospel. May He be lifted up and draw many to Himself!
