Spring is here…

…and all of God’s AMAZING creation with it!

Thought we’d share a taste of the beauty,
with those of you who are still hibernating. ;D

This is an Eastern redbud, and is our state tree.

To free up space in the garden, we planted
onions and lettuce in buckets this year.

The tulips have just started blooming. God’s handiwork, is awesome!

My Aunt gave Grandpa three chickens and a small chicken tractor,
they’ve been a really fun addition!

The bees have been hard at work on all the new blooms.

After Hannah got married, Charity took charge of the garden.
We’re all indebted to the hard work she does every year
to get it started, and keep it going! Thanks Charity!

Planting potatoes. Ahhh…what a good feeling.

The peach trees have bloomed, they’re SO pretty.
I mean, who wouldn’t want some pink fluff in their back yard?

Charity and Maggie had the opportunity to take
a friend’s graduation pictures in one of the local peach orchards.

When the peach trees are in full bloom, against the golden evening sun,
with the green grass, and warm weather,
it is just, so…magnificent, striking, stunning…words just DON’T do it justice…

…and neither do pictures…
I guess you’ll just have to come down and see them for yourself sometime.

It is interesting to see how different the blooms are,
and the different timing of each tree.
Some of the blooms are light and fluffy, and some…

…well, not so much.

Around here if you have nice weather, pretty flowers, and green grass,
you’re also going to have tornadoes looming around.
Hey, the clouds sure can be pretty though, and the rain is nice. : )

This was the other evening as the sun was setting. Just beautiful.

Psalms 69:34
“Let the heaven and earth praise HIM, the seas,
and every thing that moveth therein.”

Compilation of pictures…

As we update, we somehow, always end up with a few pictures
that for some reason or another aren’t privileged enough
to have their own post, so…you get ‘em all together. : )

The snow/ice stuck around for a few days. We okie wimps got tired
of being inside, so we got out and enjoyed a walk together.

With all the snow melting and refreezing, a huge icicle
formed on the edge of the house. Benjamin claimed the prize.

Caleb took Maggie to a Tim Hawkins concert. VIP tickets! : ) They enjoyed it.

Seven years ago, the Cabreras hosted our family in Mexico.
To say the least, we were super excited when they stopped by for a short visit!

We had a blast catching up, and hearing what God is doing in Mexico!

We had a grand time with two of the Linzey girls!
It had been 8 years since they had been to our house…yikes!!!

The weather has been perfect for Model T rides!Model T rides are a must!

We all enjoyed Elisabeth’s intriguing stories/pictures
from her 4 month stay overseas!

The time was filled with talking, laughing, recommending books,
sharing spiritual struggles/victories, talking, a Model T ride,
talking about how to relate with siblings, a tour of our changed house,
talking…you get the idea. It was a blessing.

Dad and Mom went to a belated western themed Valentines dinner
with the couples from church, and a few long time friends.

With spring here we’ve been really enjoying the lovely weather!
( More on that in a future post : D)

Oh, and for those of you who don’t know…
getting to share life with a twin, is amazing!

Grandpa, Maggie, and I went fishing at one of Grandpa’s ponds.
We had fun even if we didn’t catch anything!

Heidi also got to test out the water for the first time.
Lets say, she definitely got her paws wet! ; )

Speaking of Heidi…she’s just over 4 months old now.
She is learning fast, and in my opinion…has gotten a whole lot cuter.

Jeremiah 9:23-24
“Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me,
that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness,
in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.”

Road trip to TX!

If you didn’t know… We LOVE family road trips! The 5 of us kids that are still at home and Mom and Dad drove down to San Antonio, TX to attend the Annual Christian Worldview Film Festival. We have gone in the past but only to attend the ending ceremonies on Saturday. This year we were super excited to be able to go for the whole weekend!

Snacks are a must on our family trips!

There were 10 films/projects that John-Clay had the privilege of being apart of, 6 of which won awards and 3 got runner-up! He also taught 4 sessions at the filmmaker’s guild earlier in the week.
This is part of the “Polycarp” team.
Supper at the pizza place.

We really enjoyed hangin out with the Ferraro girls that came down and their cousin Eliya Hurt who played “Anna” in the movie “Polycarp”.
Somehow ice-cream always sounds so good late at night when everyone’s tired!!

It was so refreshing to get away for the weekend and enjoy time together as family! We get so spread out and busy that just passing in the house sometimes we realize we haven’t seen someone ALL day! So driving 7hrs squished in the car together is very fun!

Randy and Susan Putz were so gracious to let us stay at their house again this year. After the ending ceremonies they treated us to Coldstone Creamery ice-cream!
I told ya ice-cream always sounds good!

Us with “Mr. and Mrs. Polycarp”.

Several of the Tulls joined us too! After meeting part of the Tull family and wanting very badly to meet the rest, we finally got to! d
Mrs. Henline, Mom, and Mrs. Putz                        Joe H. and John-Clay

Some highlights of the trip were… Just going on a trip, getting to support John-Clay, getting to see Beyond the Mask for the first time, meeting lots of John-Clay’s filmmaker friends, sharing the same house with the Henlines, watching “Polycarp” on “the big” screen, and having the Ferraros stay at our house on their way home!
