Super Tuesday…

“Which candidate do you like? Who are you going to vote for? Where does this candidate stand on this subject or that subject…what about that candidate?”

Oklahoma’s primaries are on March 1st…just around the corner.
Politics is definitely one of the top conversations around here! If you are questioning whether or not to vote, here is a video explaining some reasons why this election
is so important.

Don’t worry, I’m not going to try and convince you who to vote for.
Even as a family we don’t all agree on the same candidate…but I do want to encourage you to pray and seek God on who HE wants you to vote for.

How do we know who we can trust, who is telling the truth?
Instead of starting by asking questions like, “Who can make America great again?” or “How are they going to solve illegal immigration…etc.?”
What if first, we asked, “What makes America great to begin with? Is there a candidate who is grounded morally? Who fears God? Who has the character of Christ?”

It is very clear that God’s standards for a leader aren’t stature or the most charisma, but godly character! Self-control, humility, gentleness…etc.

Our nation doesn’t just need fixed, it needs fixed morally, which begins with a personal relationship with Christ, then the family, and the Church. The president can’t fix the moral problem in our country but with that being said, as Christians, we have the opportunity to elect a man who will uphold Biblical standards. One who will protect and defend our nation’s structure/constitution, our Christian foundation. Someone who will not continue to cause our country to spiral away from God, so that as Christians we will still have the freedom to live out our faith.

Don’t get me wrong, the other topics are important! Go look at the candidate’s past record, that tells a lot about them…but what good is it if we have
a president that will lower taxes or rebuild our military…etc. if we don’t
have the blessing of God?…if we as a nation don’t heed 2 Chronicles 7:14?
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray , and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
We don’t need a president who says he’ll do the right things, but someone who
seeks God first, then we can trust that God will lead him make the best decisions for our country.

Now, I told you I wasn’t going to try and convince you which candidate to vote for, but I will give you a link that describes concerns about Donald Trump.
Please take a couple minutes to read this!

Also, here is a link that shows some comparisons between candidates on
different topics. If you want more information on a certain candidate…
let us know and we’ll see if we can help you out.

So again, I encourage you to pray and seek God on who he wants you to vote for. Don’t vote for someone because everyone else is, think it through and ask Him.

GIRL Party! =)

photo 1
“We should go on a girls’ trip, meet half-way and stay in a cabin or condo for a few days” said one next-of-kin to the other…and so they did. =)

This past weekend we made that comment a reality! We 4 girls and mom, plus 5 Ferraro girls and their mom, met each other half way (in Branson) for 3 days. We rented a two story house which was so much nicer than getting hotel rooms, as we didn’t have to wait long for a bathroom, had our own kitchen, and plenty of space.

Somehow one sister convinced the other to bring her ukulele…and we livened up the house with a little “fun music”. =)

How many girls can you fit in one kitchen? =)

Since we had a nice kitchen, we were able to bring our own food and saved on
a little cash…

It was wonderful to take a break from all of our busy schedules to relax and spend some time together.

Yea, all that cash we saved by bringing our own food…we were able to spend while bargain shopping. =) =) And the hunt is on!

With 11 girls in the house…we watched a lot of chic flicks ahem, GIRL movies. =)

We were happy to be able to steal our friend Gloria away from college life for a night!

We were also able to meet up with a couple mom and dad have known since 1989.

Can’t have a good party without games!

Some of us prefer climbing up the outside of the stairs. =)

So grateful for this time together and are hoping we can do it again sometime! =)

Share a Little Love…Spread a Little Sunshine!

Back when we were all young kids (such a long time ago), our family used to visit elderly relatives, sing, and play instruments at nursing homes! We have some very special memories of doing that together and some rather interesting ones! :)

But we are grateful that our parents took us and gave us the opportunity to minister, even though it wasn’t always “fun”! It taught us lots of things…but mainly it taught us how to love and communicate with the elderly and gave us a heart of compassion for the lonely and neglected!

Most residents at a nursing home seldom have visitors and are sad, neglected, and forgotten.
So, for Valentines we recruited some little friends of ours to come help us
make cards and little “love bug” creations! (Some of them look more like monsters,
but they do make you smile!) Then we took them to the nursing home that Abbie works at as a CNA/CMA. We had some very sweet pictures of the residents receiving
their cards and hugs, but for safety reasons, we are not allowed to post any of them.DSC_0402DSC_0384DSC_0390DSC_0392DSC_0398DSC_0404DSC_0407DSC_0414DSC_0348DSC_0419DSC_0347DSC_0350DSC_0422DSC_0353

Creativity was really flowing and, wow, there were some very interesting creations.
: )

The cards and bugs were made with…

-Colored pipe cleaners
-Variety of Pom-Poms (glitter ones are great)
-Googly eyes
-Chocolates for the base
-Heart shaped decorations (also can use as the base)
-Hot glue gun
-Something to cut the pipe cleaners with
-Card stock

…Lots of love went into making these cards! One of the little girls kept saying, “I’m going to make someone happy.” “I’m going to make somebody smile!”
And she sure did! DSC_0435

If you’re feeling a little single this Valentine’s Day…don’t think about yourself.
Look for someone who needs to know that JESUS loves them! And do something special for them. Bring a smile to someone’s face!

Instead of wishing to receive, look for ways to give.
You’ll be surprised how much love you will receive in return!

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have
love one to another.”  -John 13:35

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.”
–Mark 10:45

January…usually a pretty quiet month

Well…quiet would not be the word to describe this January! Huntin’, emergency room visits, new baby, a birthday…and the list could go on! So here are a few pictures to recap the month.

Bringing in the new year!IMG_0165

Abbie and Benj went duck hunting every opportunity they got…but the waterfowl are very few and far between this year.

Benjamin requested fried chicken for his birthday and Maggie makes it the best!

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

-Romans 12:1-2
