All Under One Roof for a Weekend!

This weekend was half celebration and half good-byes. Smiles and tears.
Our WHOLE family was together for the twins’ birthday so we made the most of it and went swimming, shot skeet, played games, sibling talks and held little Evan!
The good-byes were because Hannah, Dustin and Evan are moving back to MN temporarily. Kind of a test move for them, but they are planning on coming back the beginning of December sometime. We are excited for them…but at the same time it’s so hard to see them leave.
So here’s lots of pictures from our time together. We had so much fun =)

Our group picture kept getting bigger! =)

Caleb ran the slinger for us and would shoot the clay pigeons we missed! He’s just that good!

For 7min. Maggie is older than Carinna and LOVES to rub it in! Just because she can.

Part of the swimming group.

Lots of nephew, son, grandson and great-grandson lovin!! He’s a sweet, cuddly, smiley baby.

We had a great conversation!

Make memories. Family is a treasure.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Rom 8:38-39

Evan Trust Dornink!
Born: June 19th at 8:52 p.m.
Stats: 7 lbs 15 oz and 21 in. long

Waiting, …and waiting, at the hospital. =)

We are super excited to announce the arrival of the newest little addition to our family! It’s been 14 years since we’ve had a baby around, and we are enjoying and soaking-in every moment with little Evan! =)

Yummy snacks help pass the time. =)

Dustin and Hannah had planned on having a home birth, but because of complications, they ended up at the hospital with an emergency C-section. Praise the Lord, Hannah is recovering and the baby is doing great!

This is one excited new Grandma!!! =)

The first glimpse of our new nephew/grandchild!!! SO CUTE. =)

Evan was just a few hours short of being born on Dustin’s birthday, what a great present! =)

We are so grateful for everyone’s prayers and for the Lord’s hand of mercy. He is the Giver of this precious new gift of life!

Little Dornink’s baby shower

Last week, Mrs. Mount hosted a baby shower for Hannah! The theme was “ready to pop”. She was blessed with lots of fun and handy things.

Summertime =)

Happy Wednesday ya’ll! Here’s a brief update of our summer…enjoy. =)

Texas trip

This past weekend our family went down to Texas so Dad could teach a family seminar in Denton. He is a great public speaker, and we love to hear him teach! Since we were all along for the ride, he had us do a little pickin’-and-a-grinnin’. =)

Something I really appreciate about Dad is that he practices at home, what he teaches to others.

The Lord has ABUNDANTLY blessed our zucchini plants this year! Charity has done a lot of work in the garden this season, she took over Hannah’s place as family gardener.

Several of us have enjoyed spending time with the newlyweds while helping them fix up their house. Hannah is immensely enjoying married life. To put it in her own words: “I LOOOVVVVVEEEE…being married to him!!!” =)

We are so blessed to live close to Grandma and Grandpa and spend lots of time with them! We will treasure the memories we are making.

Babysitting keeps me on my toes, it’s great! =)

Well there you have it, a re-cap of the B’s summer.

May the Lord abundantly bless each one of you with a greater knowledge of God’s love for you, and may this spur-on your love for Him.

Another Celebration, in MN!

That’s right, our whole family traveled the 12 hours up north, to be a part of a wedding reception for Hannah and Dustin in MN. They had a great turn-out, Hannah and Dustin shared how God brought them together, we ate good food, met new people…

…and played volleyball in the church gym afterwards. =)

It was a very rare and special opportunity to have our WHOLE families (Dorninks and Burnetts) all together for just a couple of days – oh yeah!

After spending a couple of days up yonder, most of our family came back home, however Carinna and I got to stay, along with Dustin and Hannah, for a whole week longer!!!

We spent one beautiful afternoon hiking at Oxbow park.

I enjoyed walking with little miss Charity D., she has wisdom beyond her years. =)

We got to help celebrate Dustin’s birthday while we were up there! Some of us girls put together a photo scavenger hunt for us to play all together. If you’re looking for a fun group activity, I would come highly recommend this! Smile Enjoy a few of our categories…

“Think birthday”

“Act out an animal”

“I can’t believe we all fit in here!”

“Everybody’s feet off the ground”

“We’re rich!”

“Draw a green, Apples to Apples game card and act it out” This turned out pretty funny! The team on the left had the card EXCITED and the one on the right had SELFISH. Pretty classic! Smile

“Classic Hannah and Dustin” Winking smile

“Random” – they were random alright! Lol!

Planting the garden. Their planting season is a lot later than ours is. =)

Saturday afternoon we went bowling. Let’s just say I was not born to bowl! Everyone else did a great job and it was fun. =)

You know God’s blessed you with great friends when you come home after spending LOTS of time together, convicted, inspired, and with a hunger and passion to know God more! I can’t even begin to tell you about all the great, iron-sharpening-iron conversations we had! I am so grateful for the body of Christ who happen to be our ‘next of kin’. =)

Keep your eyes on Jesus!
